PARIS IN THE SNOW
The snow in these photos is fresh! At least it is fresh in our memories. All the photos and video were shot in January 2021. There was one day of snow and it was very exciting. The city was crowded with people out enjoying the unusual sight. The kids were ecstatic.
Everything looks different even with a fairly light dusting of snow. Paris was transformed. It’s not something you can plan ahead for, but when it comes, there’s not a moment to lose!
We have shared some photos and video with you so that you can enjoy it. The first photo above was taken at the carousel in the Tuileries gardens. It was a magical moment, walking through the gardens and suddenly becoming aware of the yellow glow of lights through the snow-covered trees in the distance. Approaching closer, what. seemed like a scene from a fairy tale materialized.
The carousel was not the only part of the Tuileries gardens that looked magical in the snow.
Pont Alexandre III is always a favorite spot in Paris. The snow made it even more beautiful.
The 7th Arrondissement, Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower were wonderful in the snow. Here are two videos to set the scene. Some images follow.
Here are a few more photos all taken on the same day in different locations including Place de la Concorde and along the Seine.
Here are a few random shots, including some fun ones. It really was a fun day and particularly for the kids who were out in force with their parents.
Here are two shots from the window of our apartment in the 7th.

A NOTE ON STAYCATIONS
We are very aware of the fact that these times are not normal. Many of you would be in Paris now or would have visited recently or be coming here soon…if it were possible.
So, in the interests of staying positive and making the best of current circumstances (always the best thing to do even if you have to really work at it!) there is an article that was sent to us recently by Teresa Siqueira, a writer and content marketer for Porch, that we would like to recommend to you. It really has some great ideas.
The article is “HOW TO PLAN THE BEST STAYCATION EVER.” Just click or tap on the title and you’ll be able to read it. What does that have to do with Parisian Moments? Well, if you read down the article you will find a section entitled “Set the Mood for your Staycation.” If you are planning a Paris or France themed staycation, we can help you create the mood and ambience. Just browse the Parisian Moments Shop and find images that appeal to you, either by bringing back memories or by fueling your dreams of a trip to Paris or somewhere in France. You can order prints or canvases, we’ll ship them to you rapidly, and you can get them up on your walls to create the perfect space for your staycation. They will cost only a fraction of the price of an actual trip, but can really brighten up your life while you wait for the time when you can make that trip for real. If you want some tips on creating a gallery wall, you can refer back to our earlier posts on the subject:
We want to thank Teresa for sending her excellent article to us. We have mentioned the section that applies to what we do, but the whole article is excellent and we recommend implementing all of Teresa’s recommendations.
Well, that’s it for this post of Le Journal. Thank you for reading it. We hope you have enjoyed it and that it has brought up some hope, inspiration, ideas or rekindled happy memories.
Please leave us a comment on the post. We value the feedback greatly.
As always, if you see an image you would love to hang on your wall but can’t find in the shop, just write to us and tell us which image(s), print or canvas, size, and we’ll make it available to you.
We are here to answer any questions or help in any way we can. Just email us.
À bientôt,
Georgianna and David
