Collector Profile NUMBER 1, Jill H.
We have such passionate collectors of our prints and canvases all over the world that we have decided to do a new type of Journal post to profile some of them. This first one is about Jill H., a collector of our photographs whose house is like a Parisian Moments gallery. We wanted to share this with you.
All of these photos are of Jill’s house in Fairfax, VA . She has been collecting Parisian Moments and Georgianna Lane Paris prints and canvases, framing them beautifully, and filling up her walls with them. She’s even added walls to her house so that she would have a little more room to hang our photos.
To say we are honored is to understate the case. We love Jill! But let’s show you some of the house and the photos.
The prints below were the beginning of Jill’s collection going back to 2021.
In February 2021 Jill wrote in an email:
“Browsing through all of the print and canvas options, planning the wall layouts, selecting sizes, and soon selecting custom frames and mats have brought to me so much joy and happiness during these awful COVID times. I know I’ll enjoy the prints and canvas for years and years to come. Renovations of my 2nd and 3rd floors will begin in about a month, once all of the materials arrive. I already know the images that I want to put on the hallway walls. I look forward to placing my next order, once I see a few things take shape and can determine sizes.”
In July, she wrote:
” I wanted to let you know that I picked up all of my Paris door prints and cafe canvas [see the gallery above], along with several prints from Georgianna’s Etsy shop, at the local framing shop just the other week. Everything is stunning! The shop had THE most amazing selection of frames and mats, and the staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. I spent nearly three-hours there, selecting frames and mats. My father is going to come and visit in late July and hang everything with me. I’m so excited! I’ll send some pictures once we have everything on the walls. The two new prints that I just ordered will go in the 2nd floor hallway, where I recently had an accent wall built and the custom hallway console table that I ordered six months ago finally arrived last week.”
A SPECIAL PINBOARD
Later in July 2021, Jill sent more photos with an explanation:
“I managed to hang the cafe canvas in my dining room myself this weekend. It’s beautiful! [See the gallery after the photo below] And here are some of the prints from Georgianna’s Etsy shop that I used to decorate my new pinboard in my newly renovated master bedroom. I have three framed ones to hang in the stairwell leading up to the master suite.
“Thanks for making my house so beautiful!”
“On the pinboard with Georgianna’s prints are my Mom’s pearl and opal necklaces. We lost her 10-years ago to cancer. And in the gold shadow box on the table, which also has one of Georgianna’s prints, is her baby bracelet from 1947. Both the pinboard & box are sacred to me. I smile every day when I see little treasures of my Mom with Georgianna’s work :)”
LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM
“And here are the two canvas prints in the combined living room and dining room area. They inspired the new light fixtures and medallions.” (December 2022)
THEN THE OFFICE NOOK
“My bookcase finally arrived. Here is the finished office nook. The flower shop print is the crown jewel of my work area. I love it; thank you!” (March 2023)
THIS WAS THE MASTER BEDROOM

THE PARIS BALLET SHOP WINDOW
Somewhere in between all of this, in March 2023 came a slightly unusual request:
“If you ever come across an ornate / magical window display of a Paris ballet shop or couture wedding dress boutique and can take a few pictures, that would be amazing!”
Well, we are always open to a challenge and a request, especially from someone who is such an ardent fan of our work. So we kept our eyes open. Sure enough, there is a Repetto shop just around the corner from where we live in Paris, self-styled Repetto - Artisan du luxe et de la Danse. And they had a window display that looked perfect. We photographed it and sent a small image to Jill. She LOVED it. It was soon printed as a very large canvas (40x60” – about as large as this particular kind of canvas can go), and delivered to Jill’s house. She had it framed beautifully and hung it on the landing of her staircase.
In Jill’s own words:
“We picked up and hung my ballet canvas this past weekend. I LOVE it! I’ll take some better pictures of it and the other five prints that I had framed and hung this upcoming weekend when there is a bunch of sunny natural daylight. But I couldn’t wait any longer to show you a sneak peek of the canvas. I continue to find myself just sitting at the top of the steps on the landing admiring the canvas / photograph every minute that I get.”
While Jill was waiting for us to find the ballet shot, she had not been idle. She was doing quite a bit of remodeling.
“ Here are all of the new hallway pics. They look beautiful! Thank you!!”
“And here is the master bathroom. I love the pink with the black, grey, and white bathroom. It looks so sophisticated, especially with the overhead crystal ceiling light. Please share with Georgianna. They all came from her Etsy site.”
REPETTO REPEATED
While parts of this story – and more photographs – are unfortunately missing, there is a sequel – make that two sequels – to the Repetto story.
The first was Jill’s wondering if we could find something ballet related but Christmassy, as it was that time of year. Fortunately, we could and did. This was also in the window of Repetto.
Jill was pleased:
“Happy New Year! We picked up and hung my new framed canvas this weekend. I love it! Between the snowflakes and dancing fairies, it is magical. The two canvases look beautiful together. Thank you so much for taking a special holiday photograph for me. “
And still the Repetto story was not over.
We move on to April 2024:
“As always, it is wonderful to hear from you. Your timing is impeccable. We spent the weekend unloading all of the contents of my master bedroom and closet onto the 1st and 2nd floors, so it can be painted and a large accent wall behind the bed built. The color had been the same for the past nine years. I’m ready for a change. And the wall (a sloped 16 ft x 16ft+) has been a blank canvas since I moved in. I’m thinking I’d like to do a large piece of horizontal artwork above my headboard. After I see what character the room takes on with its new colors and the accent wall, then I’ll decide on the artwork. At this point I’m thinking minimal and muted colors - off whites, creams, very light pinks, … or some kind of antiqued looking black & white. My contractor will do the painting and woodwork the week of 06 May. I’ll start to move back into the room the following week after it’s cleaned. I’ll send some pics and be in touch after I have the room setup so you and Georgianna can help me to find the perfect piece of artwork.”
Well, we went back to the Repetto store, a different one this time. They do a really beautiful job of their stores and were happy to accommodate us for the photography. Here are the results.
As you can see below, even the walk-in closet was decorated with a huge print in the same theme.
This is a close-up view of the image above the desk.
There you have it. One collector’s journey to populate her entire home with our photographic prints and canvases. We have not even shown all of the Parisian Moments and Georgianna Lane photos in Jill’s house.
In putting together this Journal post, we have detected several square inches of wall space in Jill’s house that are NOT filled with our photos. We will have to point this out to Jill:-)
We hope you have enjoyed the post and found it inspiring. It does give you an idea of our flexibility and willingness to work with clients to make sure they find what they’re looking for.
If you are a customer of Parisian Moments and would like to share photos and information about your display of our prints and canvases in your home or office, we would love to see them and share them on the home page of our website and perhaps in a Journal post.
And if you do not find what you are looking for in the Parisian Moments shop, please contact us and tell us what you need. We have hundreds of thousands of images that are not in the shop and, as you can see above, we are often able to go out and photograph a location that we do not have.
It really makes us happy to see our photos brightening up the homes and lives of people like you.
À bientôt!
